Institute Melbourne (CHIME) Inc.
Who
we are
A self-funding umbrella organisation for three
separate choirs: the CHIME Choir (an SATB Choir of about 35
voices), the CHIME Youth Choir and, from time to time, the
CHIME Touring Choir.

What
we sing
Wide range: pop to sacred with meanderings
through gospel and spiritual, contemporary, jazz, musicals
and popular choral. Normally accompanied by piano, but sometimes
have orchestral backing and do some a capella singing.
Musical
Activities
Rehearsals on Tuesday nights at the Box
Hill Community Arts Centre.
Two concerts, Christmas performances and occasional paid gigs
during the year.
Overseas tours every 2-3 years

Aims
and objectives
- To
foster a love of music and singing.
- To
provide a structure for choristers to develop their talents
and to learn to work as part of a highly trained and disciplined
team under a professional music teaching staff.
- To
provide a musically competent and trained body of choristers
who present music at the highest possible standard.
- To
assist in choristers' study of music and general artistic
development.
- To
present, by public or private performance, choral mesic
to audiences in Victoria, interstate and throughout the
world.
