Getting to Know Our Customers

Bubblegum Productions and b-wave Portal are in the business of putting people in touch with other people. That requires more than simply offering innovative technical services. It also requires that we understand you, our customer, and your needs. We indeed intend to become the Internet's leading community service for the business community serving the great area surrounding Glen Waverley Central in Melbourne, Australia. Similarly, we intend to become the default and most important source of community information for the inhabitants of the this same region.

We get to know you primarily through the information you provide to us when signing up for, or using, one or more of our paid or free services, or registering your business for having free exposure to the community through our business directory on-line (www.b-wave.com.au). The information you volunteer ranges from basic contact information, to payment information, to details of the products and/or services you provide.

All of the information we request from you when signing for our services, either these services be free or paid, is optional unless otherwise noted on the relevant form. When you register your business with us, you agree to provide and maintain accurate, complete and updated information until you decide to cease your relationship with us.

After you have registered up for our free or paid services, we may be in communication with you about your account, technical questions you may have about services provided by us, or any other matter relating to those services, and to verify that the information has indeed originated from yourself. Those communications are essential to our relationship with you and to our ability to provide you with quality services that are responsive to your needs. At the same time, those communications give us helpful insights about you, your preferences and the ways in which we might improve our services. We therefore may maintain this information for future use.

For operational and quality assurance purposes, we may take note of whether and how you use the information and services that we provide, such as by recording site traffic patterns and by maintaining log files of users' access to site files.

Finally, in order to provide our interactive services we may store your messages to or from other people. Be assured that only the webmaster in charge of administering our sites, or the authorized persons for similar roles in situations in which the former is not possibly available, have access to the e-mail messages and attachments that our Website may store. Other, non-authorized Bubblegum Productions' or b-wave Portal's employees do not have access to these messages or attachments.

The information we receive from or about you is stored on systems designed to prevent the loss, misuse, unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration or destruction of that information. We also encrypt your transmission of sensitive information to us (e.g., credit card numbers, account passwords) in the interest of heightened privacy protection and information integrity.

Third Party Advertising and Cookies

We may use third-party advertising companies to serve ads on our Web site and other Web sites. In the course of serving advertisements, these companies may place or recognize a unique 'cookie' on your browser, and may use information (not including your name, address, e-mail address, or telephone number) about your visits to this and other web sites in order to measure advertising effectiveness, and to provide advertisements about goods and services of interest to you.

Information Corrections or Changes

You have the ability to correct or change certain information in our records, such as your address, contact information, messages, and the information relevant to your business, if that is the case. The process for changing your information depends on the case, and for you to change your business details and business contact information, simply go to the change record form your new information as required. You may change this information at any time and as often as necessary. If you need assistance or have questions about correcting information, you can contact us via e-mail at support@b-wave.com.au. Modification of your record in our database may take from 24 to 48 hours from the time you submit the form, provided that we have been able to directly confirm with you the validity of the modifications, in the case of on-line format directory(ies) and from the next issue of off-line format directories.

We may decide to verify information through some form of direct contact with you, or through semi-automated on-line procedures. However, because it is the objective of b-wave Portal to be a venture to service a specific community, and not the global Internet market, we favor direct contact to the extent of the practical possibilities.

How We Put Information to Good Use

We use information about you mainly for purposes of giving you and/or your business exposure to your desired market, and also for monitoring and improving our internal operations, as well as to ensure we: (i) publish accurate information about you and/or your business, (ii) bill you properly in the case of paid services, (iii) administer your account in accordance with your agreements with us, and (iv) properly perform the services you have requested from us.

We also use the information we collect to monitor and improve our internal operations, as well as to improve the experience of users in our network of sites. For example, we may correlate Web site traffic information with data about individual users. This data helps us to determine how much our customers use parts of the site, allowing us to enhance it to fit the needs of as many of our customers as possible. We may also break down overall usage statistics according to customers' sites, browser types, and MIME types by reading this information from the browser string (information contained in every user's browser).

Another example of our use of information to enhance the experience of users in our network of sites is our reliance on cookie files. We use cookie files to make it easier for users to access our site or services. A cookie file is a small data file that certain Web sites write to your hard drive when you visit them. A cookie file can contain information such as a user ID that the site uses to track the pages you have visited. However, the only personal information a cookie can contain is information you supply yourself. A cookie cannot read data off your hard disk or read cookie files created by other sites. We use cookies to track user traffic patterns. When you register, we may use a cookie to store a unique, random user ID. We use this ID to identify you anonymously in our database and to track the pages you visit on our site.

If you have set your browser to warn you before accepting cookies, you will receive the warning message with each cookie. You may refuse cookies by turning them off in your browser; however, some of our sites may require a cookie for access.

Finally, we use the information we collect to direct important notices and information affecting your account or services, as well as to provide general information that may be of interest to you, including newsletters, surveys, contest and sweepstakes announcements, and information about our service or product offerings or the offerings of our business affiliates. You may opt-out of receiving information from us simply by notifying us of your desire in accordance with the opt-out instructions contained in any information message you receive from us. Note, however, that in order to fulfill our service obligations to you, we must continue sending you notices and other important information affecting your account or services.

With Whom We May Share Information

We may share certain information about you with those of our vendors who are responsible for handling your account or performing other services that you require.

We will not share sensitive financial information (i.e., credit card numbers, banking information), security information (e.g., account passwords) and personal communications (e.g., personal e-mail messages or message board postings) with such vendors or with other third parties, except in response to formal requests (e.g., subpoena or court order) made in connection with litigation or arbitration proceedings directly relating to services we provide, and that we may be by law obliged to share.

The information that you have given us for being published and disseminated for your own benefit, may be so published or disseminated in formats that may improve your exposure to the market. We will not share the personal or business contacts that you have given us for the purpose of verifying the information you may have provided us for the purpose of being published or disseminated, unless you express your desire to us in a specific and undoubtful manner that you wish us to share that information.

Additionally, we may bulk-share the information stored on that database, as well as other information that is not of a sensitive nature, with carefully selected business partners, including those who offer services that complement those provided by us or which may otherwise be of interest to you. If you do not want us to share information about you with our business partners, you may send us an e-mail at privacy@b-wave.com.au. Include the words "don't bulk-share my information" in the subject line of the e-mail and all the business names for which you are the registrant in the body of the e-mail. Please notice that this does not include the publishing of your business information in www.b-wave.com.au on-line or in other off-line formats. If you wish to be totally removed from the b-wave Portal Directory, please access the remove form. Removal takes between 24 to 48 working hours after you have submitted the form, provided that we have been able to directly confirm with you the validity of the, in the case of on-line format directory(ies) and from the next issue of off-line format directories.

How Do I Get My Business or Personal Information Removed

As noted above, through b-wave Portal site we currently make certain information about you, or your business available to the general public via our business or personal name registration database look-up and directory services. These services give users access to such data on a query-by- query basis. If you simply wish to remove the information you have given us about you person or business to be published, please access the remove form. Notice that that this procedure still does not remove you from the basic listing in the directory which is based in the information publicly available.
